Prologue - When it all Began

Hey guys! It's me ShadowofUmbreon! Yes, I have another story. However! I really like the idea for this story! Let's get started then!

Ash's POV
I woke up to the sounds of screaming. I thought I was still dreaming.  I pinched myself and I realized...it wasn't a dream. I look out my window to see Pallet Town up in flames.

"Ok! This is the princes room! He's a skilled battler to be ready!" A man shouts from outside my room.

My eyes widen and I run to grab my Pikachu, and my other Pokeball. I grab my sword, grab normal clothes, and let out my Greninja.

I quickly tell Greninja what I think is happening, and it's obviously true. There's explosions rocking the castle, and I hear the clash of swords.

"Ash! Run!!" I hear my mother shout from in the hall.

I open my balcony door and. Greninja grabs a hold of me and he jumps as I'm holding Pikachu. I hear my door slam open. I hear footsteps, before long I am on the ground.

"Someone get that Prince!!" I hear from above. I run but look at my balcony to see someone looking at me. I look at the entrance of the castle, and I see multiple dead royal guards.

I had barely escaped, but I don't know about my sister, or parents. I don't think they did.

There was a wild Pokémon. A pidgeot. I jumped on it quickly as I ran and we flew off. I knew this Pokémon and it usually always helped me.

I sigh in relief and relax. I cover my face with my hat so no one can recognize me. I was hoping I could get to the next region without any trouble......

Serena's POV
I wake up at around midnight. I look outside and see Vaniville Town burning. My eyes widen as I walk towards my bedroom window.

As I walk up to the window a big flying Pokémon fly's past the window causing me to yelp in shock and fall. At that point, I knew Kalos was under attack.

My mother, Queen Grace Yvonne, had come up with a plan just in case this occurred. Yes, you heard right. My mother is a queen which makes me a princess.

I hear footsteps and my door fly's open. I see my personal guard, Jackson.

"Oh. It's you." I say relieved

"Princess!! We need to go!! Now!!" He shouts.

I knew the castle was being attacked as well now. I grabbed my small bag with my not so flashy clothing and grabbed my two Pokeballs.

When I turn around, Jackson is on the ground with a knife coming out of his back. I scream as a hooded man walks in.

"Good evening, Princess Serena." The man says. "I think it's in your best interest to come with me."

"No!! You killed my guard!!" I yell.

"I guess it's the hard way." He says sending out a Tyranitar. My eyes widen in fear as I back away.

"Leave my sister alone!!" My brother shouts.

"C-Calem!! Help me!!" I yell.

I see Calem's Salamence appear and use hyper beam, knocking down the Tyranitar. It gives me a chance to run out of my room. I run out to see Soldiers dragging Calem away. His Salamence was unconscious on the ground.

I start running towards Calem but his eyes widen. "No! Serena run!! Get out of here!!"

I stop and stand in my spot. I wanted to save him but he wanted me to run. I shake my head as my eyes fill with tears.

"Serena! If you get out of here there's still hope for Kalos! Please!!" He yells loudly.

He gets dragged around a corner and I turn to run.

"Seize her!! Bring that brat of a Princess to me!!" The hooded man yells.

"Braixen use flamethrower on the ceiling!" I yell as I throw out Braixen. She immediately follows my instructions causing part of the ceiling to collapse.

I then run off with my Braixen in tow. I'm still in my sleeping wear but I don't have time to change. I hear the occasional clash of swords, or an explosion.

"There she is!! Get her!!" I hear from behind me. I run, but make a wrong turn and corner myself in front of a window.

"Oh well well well. Look who we have here! Your mother will be so upset to learn that you shall be executed first thing when the sun rises darling."

Executed! I was going to be killed?! I couldn't believe my ears! Was it because I escaped? I turn and open the window.

"Don't do it princess!!" A soldier yells at me.

I take a deep breath and jump out the window and start falling towards the ground. Braixen does the same.

"Ok Sylveon use fairy wind!!" I shout letting out Sylveon.

The Pokémon uses its move, stopped by all three of us, and letting us land safely. Me and my two Pokémon take off into the forest surrounding Vaniville.

"You can run princess!! But you can't hide forever!!! We will find you!!" The man shouts from behind me.

As I run I can hear the screaming from Vaniville. I hear swords clashing in the distance. There's multiple explosions from Pokémon battles.

Tears are flowing from my eyes as I keep running. My brother Calem, had been taken prisoner, and I can only think my mother and father were as well.....

Well. That was fun to write. Don't worry though. I will of course still write The Journey Begins with ShineofSylveon, and my holiday stories. But I hope you enjoyed this first part of 'Together'
