Now

James was never the type of guy who cared about what happened to him. He kept up his mask like he knew he should and got on with life. He was reckless and had no regard for others - the only person who was exempt from his distaste was Delilah. At 20 years old, Delilah had grown to be a beautiful young woman, - with a body to die for. That is why James knew he had to have her. James and Delilah had grown up together - with Harry too, but Harry skipped town to marry someone as wealthy as him a short while back and Delilah had been trying to keep herself composed ever since; it was obvious that she was in love with him, James was just glad that he convinced him to leave the stage before he could have his shot at 'Lilah'.

He had been waiting for Delilah for a whole ten minutes, she had 'only gone to get a jacket' and apparently completely forgot about little old James; every single time he gets so close to taking what he feels he deserves, something comes and fucks it up - granted it is generally Delilah's fault, but still, the outcome is the same - his plans are ruined.

A slender girl with a mess of brown hair opened up the door and began to frantically apologize for making him wait "You see James, it appeared that I needed the toilet-" Her voice dropped to a whisper "-and it was not a pee." James burst out laughing, for the first time genuinely in weeks. "Oh honey I love it when you talk dirty to me." He responded, trying to keep the conversation light, he always loved having back and forth witty banter with Delilah, it was one of the things that made the thought of her so appealing - but he could never love her.

"Jaaames" Delilah snuggled up close to him, clearly after something. "Yes Delilah?" He raised an eyebrow, amused at the way she sucked up to him when she didn't want to seem rude. "Well, my dearest friend, I was wondering if we could maybe have dinner at my place, I know that you wanted to go on a date, but my bowels do not seem to be date appropriate tonight. Is that okay with you?"  In truth, James always took an opportunity to save money, not that he was short of it though - he was adopted by one of the most wealthy families in England. James nodded and locked his car. He didn't mind Delilahs house, she was a middle class girl with a fair amount of money and a good education, so she never really wanted for much, but she was still no where as well off as James and Harry were - she still had her struggles, not that they lasted for long, the Mathews family usually helped her out whenever she asked. "That's good Jamie boy because I bought steak."

After Delilah had cooked for the two, they sat down and started to flick through the television channels. James thought that it was nice, but boring. He would much rather take things up stairs but he knew he couldn't do that with one of his oldest friends. "So, James. May I ask why you have been so persistent with me recently? Why are you so eager to take me out?" Her voice dropped again "Are you trying to get into my pants?" She asked with a giggle.

Finally, a chance to stir things up a bit, cause some drama and see where it goes. James jumped at the opportunity, taking Delilah's hands in his.
