The Blind hero
(I came up with this short story for a school project, enjoy °×°
In this world it's full of magic, but in this village they banned magic. They think that magic could bring destruction to their poor village. So if anyone act suspicious or odd, without any reason they will attack,hang, or burn anyone. What I am about to tell you is "The Legend of the Blind Hero".
In this poor village there was a poor widow living with her two children, one was blind the other is color blind. One of the children Maya (the youngest of the two is the quiet and feeble) was reading peacefully in a book full of Braille. While the oldest Mae (the tough yet enthusiasm one) is trying to figure out what color is the sky. Even though Maya is blind doesn't mean she is not helpless in the world, her senses became stronger over the years. Like Mae, even though she is color blind with her mother help she is unstoppable.
*Knock Knock Knock*
"Coming"! Mother yelled
"Hello......oh........but that's not-"
Mother is talking with three people from the village.....
"Mae" I asked waving my hands around to find her, as I felt Mae arms wrap themselves around me I gave her a tight hug
"I smell fire.......the yelling.......it won't stop"!!! I yelled
"Shhh.....it's going to be okay....can't you tell me what they are s-"
She didn't have to ask I'm already whispering the same words I can hear from the village....
"Burn her......Burn her......Burn her.."
Mother walked back to us, her face tells us nothing is wrong but her eyes tell otherwise....
"Mae"? Mother asked
" I need you to listen closely to what I'm about to say" she waited until the three men are out of sight then she whisper silently
"I want you to take your sister out the back and you two will run away from this crazed village"
Mae didn't know what to say, she only nodded
When Mother walked out of the house, she tried not to cry but the tears are threatening to spill over
"I love you....*sniff* my dear precious children.....Good Bye"
Meanwhile, in the house by the time Mae is out of shock I was already gone. I left to the village......it took awhile but I managed to trust my instincts and follow the smell of fire to the village. When I was in the center of the village I felt a presence of a big crowd, the shouting of men and women yelling the words again and again
"Burn her....Burn her......Burn her"
I went up to a man and asked "sir....do you know who is going to be burned"
I already knew the answer but I didn't believe it......
"We are going to burn......THE LAST WITCH IN OUR VILLAGE"!!!!!!! He ended that statment with a laugh
"What is the witch name"?
"Her name is Mary Heart.....it's about time someone came to clean up that trash" he said
With that I walked away into a dark alley way.....
"Why".......why are these people so mean just because we are different?
Then there was more screaming and yelling just now, I walked out of the alley way to see Mother being tied up to a stake...
The yelling became louder
"Burn her.....Burn her...Burn her"
Then the Mayor of the village quiet down the crowd with just one hand
In a deep and hollow voice he said " Lady and gentlemen, I am here tonight to make some history...with the last witch in our village" He turned and gave mother a rude look
"This Witch"! He spat
"Is clever...over the years she moved into the woods miles away from here so that we wouldn't find her"
As he went on, everyone gasp at the information they are receiving
"And with at we Shall burn the LAST WITCH TO SMITHEREENS"!!!!!!!!
"STOPPPP" I yelled
Then the crowd silent down and turned to me
"I cannot just sit around and watch you murders kill my mother" I yelled while going up to the stage where mother is
"Maya"!!!!
"What are you doing.....go back and find your sister this instant"!!!!!
"No"!!!!!
"You're different than the rest"!!!!!
"You said it yourself that you swore to never use magic as long as it is for good"!!!!!!!
The mayor then said "so this your dear child...hey little girl what are you doing here"?
"I'm here to tell you and everyone else here is doing the wrong deed"!!!!!!
"OPEN YOUR EYES WHEN I AM TALKING TO YOU GIRL"!!!!!!!!
I opened my eyes.....only to see darkness
"Are you blind......"? He asked
"Yes"
He had a look that tells you he is thinking
"Put the woman down from that stake" he said
Then the crowd started to protest
'But-"
"I SAID TAKE HER DOWN FROM THERE"!!!!!!
Then he turned toward Mother
"I am deeply sorry" he said
"I didn't know that you had children, you are a widow right?"
Mother nodded
"I am a person who will kill a witch but a Mother with a blind child"!!!!!!!
"But like what the child said you promise to not use magic unless it's for good am I correct"
"Yes sir" Mother answered
"Then it's settled....... you shall live as our guardian witch of the village" he stated
At that point I felt Mother wrap her arms on me and another pair of arms......Mae
"I'm proud of you lil sis" she said
With that that is the story of the "Blind Hero" that changed everything
