Frodo is sick. He has come down with a horrible fever. Sam isn't able to visit Frodo because he was too caught up with chores and Merry and Pippin aren't able to make it because they are off stealing vegetables from Farmer Maggot's farm. Frodo desperately needs someone to take care of him and comfort him. He misses the times where his Uncle Bilbo would take care of him. Now, that Bilbo is living in Rivendell, Frodo has to take care of himself. But, now he can't. He can barely get up from his bed, his head aches, he has horrible pains in his stomach, he has horrible coughing and sneezing fits and there are dark bags under his eyes. I forgot to mention that Frodo is awfully hungry and he needs food. If he cannot feed himself, he will need someone else to help feed him.
