i write my goals. i write the same list every time we approach a new year. my goals, they haven't changed in awhile. i write the list then delete it. its not like i'll forget them. they overpower my life.
1. keep rosa safe.
2. protect everyone from rosa.
3. i want to get into college.
as i click delete rosa pokes my backside startling me as she laughs.
'what are you doing, che?'
she always asks me this question since i can i remember.
'what are you doing, rosa?'
i've also always answered her question that way for as long as she has been asking. she didn't see my list.
'bothering you, ch. now what are you doing?'
'empty my trash folder,' i say, double deleting the list. just in case. "what are you going to do now, that you've finished bothering me, rosa?'
rosa giggles. "i'm never going to stop bothering you, silly che'.
