Wolf Pack - Dialogue story

Part 1

The fog clears in the forest, and through the tree's there stands a young man, he was slim but muscley, he was wearing a dark grey hoodie and khaki trousers, he looked about 17 years old. I turned back around to continue on my path but I heard him speak.

J: Alaina ... Alaina! 

he shouts from across the lake, he crosses the bridge

A: Josh ... what are you doing here

J: Alaina please you need to listen to me

A: You cant't be here Josh, go home

J: Please Alaina,  I'm leaving

A: what do you mean you're leaving

J: My pack... I can't stay there

A: Josh tell me whats happened

J: My pack,  they've started a new rule,  everyone has to be a fighter,  I can't stay there  my alpha says to people you leave the pack of you stay as a fighter

A: So...  You're leaving,  but what does your dad think?

J: yes I'm leaving, but you have to tell the alphas right hand man,  and my dad's an elder,  so he doesn't know,  so I haven't told the pack

A: so you're leaving illegally

J: technically not illegally because pack's aren't a rule in the world according to human beings

I hear a rustling a mile behind me

A: you can't stay here,  my pack we"re the east side,  you're the west

J: Alaina our pack was on the east,  we were bound

A: I know Josh but your pack moved,  it was your alphas choice and we are no longer bound

J: but Alaina we grew up together,  I've known you since I was a child,  our mothers brought us up together, Alaina  we were bound

A: Yes but not anymore

J: Alaina come with me...  Please

A: Josh I can't

J: so you're telling me you want to stay here,  bound to your pack,  working as a guard dog,  you want to be scanning the edges of your land for the rest of your life

A: No!... But-

J: but what Alaina,  what do you have to say

A: I think you should tell your alphas right hand man that you're leaving, if that's the rules in your pack,  you need to do it properly

J: but I can't have my dad find out

A: if you're leaving, your dad will find out anyway,  but if you officially leave your pack the right way you won't be bound to your dad anyway

J: okay,  well i certainly don't want to be a fighter,  I want to be somebody,  I want to be me and not a fighter in a pack,  I can't be just myself if I'm bound to my pack

A: you're not... Going... To the magician are you...? To get rid of your wolf blood and be total human??

J: I don't know

A: what do you freakin' mean... YOU DONT KNOW

J:  I'm weighing it out,  if I'm human I can be somebody but I don't have eternal life,  if I stay wolf I feel like I'm still bound to a pack,  I don't know.. i just dont know

A: Why would you want to be human? you'd eventually die, and i'd still be here... i..i....i'd have to... watch... you die?

J: Alaina dont say that, you were the one saying we are no longer bound, you're the one trying to get me off your land, so dont dare say i'll die and leave you

A: Josh... I know we have a past, we were bound and that's something I accept, but we aren't anymore so you're not allow on this side of the lake.... and that's something you have to accept... do you understand?

J: yes .... of course i do, but you must know our binding meant something

A: Josh... we were bound as children... as cubs... not in the way you think 

J: just come with me... if you know how i feel... 

A: Josh if you want to bind us the way you do our packs will be bound together, but you and i both know thats not what our alphas want

J: ...We wont bind our packs, we wont need to.. im leaving my pack and im not going back... come with me.. dont tell me you dont feel the same way as i feel for you??

A: I'm not saying I don't feel the same.... I can't possibly say I don't feel the same... but.. I can't go with you... I have responsibilities in my pack

J: F**k responsibilities Alaina... when you leave with me we wont need to go back, it'll be you and I as one

A: Josh.. its just not realistic 

Josh growls 

J: argh fine.. FINE! LETS DO IT YOUR WAY... I'm leaving now Alaina and i'm not coming back to find you or my pack....

A: No.. Josh wait, don't do this, you're making-

J: Making it what ALAINA a mistake? No.. i'm doing this for me, i'm going to live as me not as a fighter, look i'll leave tomorrow night, i'm gonna be lingering on the north side of the lake, on the outskirts of the forest for a while, you've got 10 days to decide, and if you're going to come with me... you come within those 10 days.... otherwise you wont see me... I'm leaving the morning of the 10th day

A: Josh... i dont know what to say.. thank you for giving me this chance to think about it...

J: Pfft ... yeah, how can you possibly have to think about freedom for less than a second??
