     Lillie's POV

Fast asleep on the couch lay my boyfriend, Tommy. I crept up besides him and knelt down to get a good look of his face. He looked so peaceful, with the corners of his lips curled up into a smile and soft snoring sounded through out the quiet room. I put my hand against the side of his face and swiped my thumb over his cheek. He was still as peaceful and quiet,  but for me, no. I was never peaceful, I had always felt as if someone was watching me, anytime and anywhere. I sighed and stood up, not noticing the sound of thunder or maybe it was drums. I raised an eyebrow and looked outside the window. The sky was clear for I could see the stars. The sound of drums slowly got louder. It sounded like something from a war, how they would have a little drummer boy beating on his drums with the drum sticks quickly. It sounded similar to that, but something was off. It was slower and it gradually got louder as it sounded from upstairs and came closer to the stairs. Faintly I could hear the footsteps of the drummer as it walked to the tops of the stairs. Frozen in fear, I stared at the open space at the top of the stairs, where it was suddenly occupied by a boy tapping on his drums with a straight face. His raven black hair hung over his right eye. The left eye still staring off into space. I took in a deep, slow breath, making the boy's eyes dart over to me. His drumming stopped as he stared into my eyes and a smirk made its way upon his lips. The lights in the house turned on, my eyes not even blinking, not moving away from the boy with the drum,

"Lillie? What are you doing?" Tommy asked. Still, I didn't dare tear my eyes away from the drummer boy. I could hear Tommy's footsteps gradually come closer to me, but they stopped when the boy started drumming again. I kept staring at the boy as I took in his appearance. A ragged and torn outfit, a stained hat sat on top of his head. The drumming got faster and faster as the drum sticks became a blur and the smirk on his face was replaced with a crazed smile, his eyes widening and he  blew his hair out of his face, allowing me to see his right eye. His eye was black and looked like a cat's, but had red streaks coming from the pupil. I gasped and blinked a couple of times, without realizing he had moved with impossible speed right in front of me. Everything slowed down as I saw him stare into my eyes and put a finger to my lips. All of a sudden, pain was inflicted all over my body, from head to toe. Inside and out. I felt they boy's hand cover face and force my head to turn to the side, forcing me to look at Tommy, but Tommy didn't look the same. A gruesome sight was held in front of me. His body was mangled and twisted. Blood ran down his sides and from his mouth. His own blood pooled around his feet. I tried moving my head to look away, but I couldn't. I was being forced to watch my boyfriend suffer as his body twisted and turned in an impossible way.

Sounding in the distance,  was marching and a man's voice. The man's voice sounding off and the soldiers yelling something inaudible. They soon surrounded us- the drummer boy, me, and Tommy's mangled body. A crowd of soldiers surrounded us and marched in place staring at us and their guns pointed towards the ceiling. The general's and the soldiers' voices boomed through the house and the marching continued. They abruptly stopped both things and pointed their guns towards Tommy and they awaited the general's signal to shoot. With a flick of his wrist, gun shots fired and sounded through the house. I watched as everything slowed down immensely and bullet's passed through my chest and stomach, but did no damage and didn't inflict pain. I gasped in surprise and was able to move my body. I turned around and watched the bullet's pierce through my lover's skin and penetrate his body, through his head, stomach, legs, and anywhere possible. Blood poured from the newly made wounds and stained his clothes even more. I screamed and backed up, only to run into someone. They tightly wrapped their arms around me, preventing me from moving. I kicked and screamed. Suddenly a hand was placed over my mouth and soon there was another one placed over my eyes, another wrapping around my throat and then many others were placed around my face, and body. I struggled and struggled to breathe. I couldn't move, couldn't breathe, couldn't do anything so I closed my eyes- it's not like I could see anyways. Everything felt heavy as I slowly went limp and accepted my fate. Life itself slowly crumbled away and slipped through my finger tips. I heard the drummer boy start playing again as the sound of his drumming  slowly faded away and I allowed life to slip away from me.

And with that, all life escaped my body and into the thin air.
