My heart is paper, innocent and new,

Make it a sculpture, I know you want to.

Sketch it with pencil, erase all mistakes,

A little more effort is all it takes.

Paint it with colours, red, pink and gold,

Make it a masterpiece, with brush strokes bold.

Enhance its best features for all to see,

Just let your imagination run free.

Crinkle it, write on it, rip it apart,

Crease it and tear it, undo the fine art.

Smudge it and shred it or stain it with ink,

Completely destroy it, do what you think.

Beat it and pulp it and watch how it bleeds,

Burn it with hot wax and see where it leads.

When you grow tired, erase what you've done,

No starting from scratch, that's part of the fun.

Stitch it together with the finest thread,

Restore the beauty of pink, gold and red.

Fix it with lemon, remove every stain,

Let somebody else heal all the pain.

It's time to give up, you've run out of ink,

Your pen and paper are just out of sync.

My heart was paper, innocent and new,

Now its damaged and it's all thanks to you.
