Prologue

I followed my target into the drugstore parking lot. She pulled into a spot near the door. I parked three rows away. Her dad so stupidly climbed out of the car and walked into the store.  I watched as she picked up her phone and began reading something.
The keys.
They were in the ignition. Perfect.
I wasted a moment debating whether using her car would be acceptable. No. It would be too obvious, and we would get caught. My car was a safer bet. I slid out of my car and began walking over. The door was unlocked. I could tell by the manual lock in the window. Perfect. She and her father were so careless. I whipped the passenger side door open and clapped my hand over her mouth. Fear flashed in her eyes for a moment as I pushed what was in my other hand against her head. Leaning in close to her ear, I said, “You will not make a sound.”
