In this book, I will be sharing some basic tips for writing better poetry. These tips will surely help beginners; although, I think these tips are useful for poets of any age. Some are my own recipes while others are stolen from great poets. Note that these are not rules about form and structure; just my honest opinions on poetry.

Please don't blindly believe everything I say. Apply it to your poetry and if it doesn't work for you — forget it. What works for me might not work for everyone.

Throughout the book, I will be comparing poetry with cooking. I am not a very good cook, but I like the whole process. To me, cooking a meal and writing a poem is a similar job. Both require patience and practice to create something appetizing. But poetry is better than cooking because you don't have to do the dishes.
