The pain

The sun glared down from my window, so bright even the curtains could not block it. With a groan and a thunk I literally role out of bed, I throw on a black crop top with an unbuttoned plaid also black shirt. My pair of dark grey leggings didn't smell bad either so I threw them on as well. With a slightly shaky hand I put on some mascara and some pale pink lipstick. With great difficulty I brush my hair and braid it. Deciding I looked almost human I walked out of my room to look for something to drink. Stumbling down the stairs of the old inn I noticed the stairs had a large hole on the third step, I think that may have been me, but I couldn't really remember. I trudge to the bar and ordered a coffee with as much Irish in it as two shots and a pint of beer. "Why do you drink so much?" Asked the bar tender looking at me with a pitying look on his rounded face. " When I was a midget, I lived in a bad part of town, one night a strange man broke into my house. He shot my mother, father and my gran right in front of me. He scooped up me and my brother in his arms and carried me off to who knows where." The bartender looked shocked. "Then" I continued " We arrived in a prison of sorts, the man threw us onto the floor where several other people joined him in kicking us. You see we were wizards, the place we went did not tolerate witchcraft, and kidnapped magicians and treated them cruelly. After a month they decided my brother was perhaps not a wizard, they dragged him off, kicking and screaming and I've never seen him since. There's more to the story, but you look like you might faint already so perhaps it is best if I kept my mouth shut for a while." He did indeed look as though he might black out. His dark skin looked paler than normal and his wife eyes looked both shocked and out of focus. He suddenly leaned back and did not seem to be able to stop. Without batting an eye
