Denial (Persona 4 Fanfic - Naoto x Yu)

Confusion - Chapter 1

What could he have done?

What else could he do?

He regconised the silhouette on the screen.

It was his.

He was next.

A loud ring echoed through the small room of his. Startled, he anxiously picked up his phone to only hear Naoto Shirogane's voice peeking through the phone.

"Senpai. The silhouette on the Television seemed familiar. Does it ring any bells?" The smooth voice had seemed to calmed him down a bit.

"A-ah no. I have not seen him before." Yu stumbled on his words,"I-I have to go sleep now. I am not feeling well."

He quickly ended the call abrubtly, causing Naoto to be shocked. Her Senpai would never do something so.....Hesitantly. Alarm bells rang through her mind as she immediately knew that something was wrong.

Yu sat down on the bed, contemplating on what the Television had shown to him. He hadn't been on television whatsoever. Why and he been targeted by the killer. That's when it struck him. On the day when they were searching for the clues on the killer, he had passed by a camera crew for a brief second. But only a second. And that was enough for him to be targeted next.

The next day, the Investigation crew gathered at Junes to discuss about the vision on the Midnight Channel.

"So, got any ideas who that was on the Midnight Channel?" Yosuke broke the silence.

"Nope. No clue." Chie said.

"Who could that be, Naoto-kun, do you have any idea who that might be?"

All eyes were on Naoto.

"I might have an idea on who that is but it is too far-fetched for it to be true."

Yu took a deep breath as his mind started going in circles. That physique was most definitely his. He would regconise his ownself no matter what.

"Senpai, you have any idea?" Rise asks while looking at Yu.

"H-huh? N-no....." Yu snapped out of it and continued,"I'm sorry. I am not feeling well today."

"Senpai, you said that yesterday too, you should go to a doctor." Naoto looked at Yu with concern. Yu heaved a sigh of relief as he thought that Naoto hadn't caught on.

"I should be fine tomorrow. I....I will leave now."

"Yu-Senpai! Do you want me to walk you home?" Rise offered, clinging onto Yu's arm.

"Huh? No its fine. You all should go home. B-Bye." Yu hurriedly leaves Junes, stumbling back home.

"I wonder what's wrong with Senpai." Kanji said.

"Beats me. I bet he's just tired from all of our battles. Let's go guys" Yosuke says, signalling them to leave.

Yu sat down again and looked at the television, it wasn't raining today, so there was no way telling who was on it.

The doorbell rang. Yu walked downstairs and as he opened the door, he was immediately forced to breathe a hankerchief that was soaked in chloroform. His body became limp and he was violently shoved into the television. The only words he was able to hear was,"You have been saved....."

Unfortunely, Nanako and Dojima was out on a trip for 3 days and no one was hone to witness the kidnapping. No one.

"Yu Narukami. Yu Narukami! Looks like he's not here today." Ms Kashiwagi marked a circle beside his name. Murmurs began to circulate between Chie, Yukiko and Yosuke.

"Do you think he's alright? He seemed really sick yesterday."Chie asked worriedly.

"Yosuke, can you call him?"Yukiko asked.

" Sure....."Yosuke dialled the number on his phone and no one picked up,"No good, he's way too sick to hear the call."

"Yosuke! How dare you use your phone when your beautiful teacher is in front of you?"

Yosuke raised his eyebrows and sighed and mumbled a 'sorry'.

After school, everyone was gathered at Junes once again, only without their Leader.

"Guys! Let's go to his house! I remembered that there is no one in his house today. Dojima and Nanako-chan went for trip, remember?" Rise said, standing up.

"Yeah. Let's go check on Senpai." Kanji continued.

As they arrive, a horrifying truth was displayed to them.

"Yu-Senpai.....Is gone?" Rise gasped as she opened his door. Naoto's sigh broke the silence that stung on their heart.

"I suggest that we watch the Midnight Channel." Naoto said.

They waited till midnight and saw Yu being shown on the show.
