Inspired by the song:
Come little children
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"Come Little Children. I'll Take Thee Away, Into A Land of enchantment. Come Little Children. The Time's Come To Play. Here In My Garden, of Magic"

In the city of London a sweet melody swelled the streets. The little children got out of bed. their eyes' were hazy. They walked as if they couldn't control their bodies, staring off into space. The ones that could get outside walked the streets, while the ones that couldn't would calmly try to find a way out. If they did not reach their destination by morning, they would go back to bed before sunrise, being perfectly normal. Some people call it sleepwalking.

"Follow Sweet Children. I'll Show Thee The Way through All, the Pain and, the Sorrows."

The childern that reached the out side would walk soundless through the streets. They all had the same destenation. The garden of shadows.

"Weep Not Poor Children for Life Is This Way. Murdering beauty And passions. Hush Now Dear Children. It Must Be This Way. Too Weary Of Life and deceptions"

A circus. Where the normal are disturbed, and the disturbed go insane...Where anyone that came became mad.

"Rest Now My Children, for Soon We'll Away, into The Calm And the Quiet. Come Little Children. I'll Take Thee Away, Into A land Of enchantment"

A boy stood on the roof of the large circus tent, balanced on the point. That's where he sang. He sang the melody only the children could hear. I heard it too. For years I heard it through the hospital walls. I looked out towards the circus tent. I lay there and listened. I was bed bound so I could never follow the song. I listened to it every night, and I sang: "Come Little Children. The Time's Come To Play. Here In My garden...of Shadows." I wish I could see it. I wish to go to the circus, but will curiosity kill the cat...

(7 years later)

I was released from the hospital and I was taken home by my parents. I got home and everything seemed pretty normal. My bedroom was the same, I didn't change my habits of staying inside all day. I stayed up till late when it happened. Midnight struck the clock and the music begun "Come Little Children. I'll Take Thee Away, Into A Land of enchantment. Come Little Children. The Time's Come To Play. Here In My Garden, of Magic. Follow Sweet Children. I'll Show Thee The Way through All, the Pain and, the Sorrows"

I'm no longer a child but I still long to hear that song. I memorized it, and I want to solve the mystery so I head down the street towards the circus.

I walked through the silver gate whose fence surrounded the perimeter. A huge tent in the center and assorted mini tents and trailers just outside the main tent.

"Why would they want kids to come here at night... what is this place hiding," I thought as I walked around. Families and couples scampered around the grounds smiling and headed for the big tent, picking up popcorn and cotton-candy along the way. "Wonder what's back here," I mumbled as I walked through the maze of trailers.

"What are you doing here?"

I turned around to see a man. He walked up to me so calmly, his dark brown hair, and  his oak colored bedroom eyes. The way he walked was almost bored, like he'd rather be inside. He was pretty tall, or maybe I'm just pretty short. He was dressed like a gothic court jester minus the hat. His face was clean but he had a black star under his right eye. Handsome or creepy and somehow I couldn't tell if I should blush or scream.

"What are you doing here Lil Lady," he did a half smile. Like he was teasing me. "I'm here to-" he stopped me with a hand cresting my face. "I mean the real reason," he smirked leaning in. "I came to see the circus," I said softly. "Figured," he said as he backed up. "Who are you," I asked. "I'm a court jester. Think of me like a clown," said Dan. "A clown?" Alice asked. "Yes my lady, a clown. Now if you don't mind I have things to take care of," sighed Dan as he began to walk off. (Y/n) summoned up all her courage and sang, "Come Little Children. I'll Take Thee Away, Into A Land of enchantment." Dan stoped and they both sang, "Come Little Children. The Time's Come To Play. Here In My Garden, of Magic." Dan turned to her and stared."Where in hell did you hear that? You're at least 18. There is no way you should even recall that song," snapped Dan. Suddenly a woman appeared, emerging from the tent. She was beautiful. Wearing a top hat and sporting a gothic ring master's outfit. Her porcelain skin was accented by her jet black hair. Speaking of her hair it was in wavy curls, oh and her eyes. Her eyes were red. They...they look like blood. "Who's this," she asked as her eyes fixed on (Y/n).

"Nothing ring master," said Dan not interested. "Hm I hope you're right (kisses Dan's cheek) come to my room later ok Daniel," she said as she walked away. "Yes ring master," he sighed. "Daniel," I mumbled. "Hm?" Said Dan. "What is this place," I whispered. One corner of his mouth went up as if he did a light smirk. "Go home. Ok princess," he said as he walked away. "Oh and forget that tune," he said over his shoulder. (Y/n) just stood there as she felt a mixture of confusion and anger. "Are you alright?" (Y/n) turned to see another tall man in what looked like a gothic renaissance lion tamer. Black hair and blue eyes that could just make you melt. "Excuse me miss. I asked if you were ok," he asked. "I'm fine thank you," (Y/n) said quickly. "That's good. I hate something to happen to you my lady," he smiled and (Y/n)  in her surprise-meant blushed. "My names Philip, but you can call me Phil. What brings you here," he continued. "I... uh...I came to see the circus," (Y/n) stuttered. "Ah well enjoy yourself miss. It's a pretty exciting show. Don't get lost ok," he smiled as he patten my head before he walked away. "Ok," said (y/n). She looked around and saw the big tent and she walked inside. It looked like your average circus. The show started and there was a tight rope walker and some traipse artists. (Y/n)'s eyes flew open "Dan," she mumble as he walked to the center.

He did juggling and knife throwing. Phil then came on and he was taming the wild animals. Everything was going smoothly. Till one of the tight rope walkers fell. The room became filled with screams and gasps. Dan with out missing a beat ran and caught her a foot from the ground. "You ok," whispered Dan and she nodded. Applause echoed and they all took their bows. Yet with every trick it slowly began to get darker. As if moral was being brought to satan's level. When the Magician split the women in half we saw every tear. Then her body was thrown to the tigers. They were taken away. Everyone thought it was a trick... Yet as I saw the cats tear her apart, I felt like it was real. Is this the place I wanted to come too? Then my thoughts halted. There was a group of children, they had thick makeup, and were dressed in plain solid color clothing. They did a little dance... They looked happy. Till one broke down into tears... "Help me," he screamed and with that, Dan came on and said, "he scared at his first performance. Please show him applause." It worked. It covered his screams.... Yet I read his lips. Before he was carried off stage. He said, "I'm sorry, don't kill me. I want to go home." I was petrified. Ring Master took the center stage. "Thank you please come again, and remember it isn't a circus if ascendents don't happen," she smirked.
