The girl who can't smile

The girl ran, holding her bag tightly. She smiled, waving at everyone she passed by. Her first day of school. She'd been in school for a few years now, but it had been the summer holidays. So, she was happy to go again.

She found herself at the large building, still smiling. "School!" She cheered. The large steps in we're like an entrance to a movie; the large glass doors that hadn't been opened in so long, and the hallways that stretched on like a track field. She walked in, admiring the newly-cleaned floor. She scrapes her feet on the mats, before changing her shoes. "I can't wait."

The corridor was long, and shiny. Her hand dragged across the pale wall by her, until she got to her destination. "2A, Middle School." Pulling her bag up, she opened the wooden door.
