Thousands of raindrops hit the window, sliding down as quickly as they fell upon it. The soft, yet long lasting roar of thunder was silenced by a crackling bolt of lightning, then more rain. Elwood sat there by the window, waiting for something exciting to happen. Sollis hadn't come home yet, but Elwood looked on the bright side. He'll come home soon. Elwood thought to himself. Not one, but two and a half hours had passed, and still no sign of Sollis. The rain however, continuous as ever. Where could he possibly be this late?? Elwood wondered. Suddenly his phone rang.
E: "Sollis?"
S: "uh, hey.."
Elwood froze. Sollis sounded like he was in pain, and a lot of it.
E: "Sollis, is everything okay??"
S: "everything's gonna be al- alright."
His breathing got a lot more heavy.
E: "Sollis, I'm serious. What happened? Are you hurt?"
Well of course he was, he sounds like it.
S: "listen, I love you so much, never forget that. everything's gonna be okay."
E: "I love you too Solli-"
The phone was dead silent on the other end.
