"Two households, both alike in dignity
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
Do with their death bury their parents' strife
The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love
And the continuance of their parents' rage
Which, but their children's end, nought could remove
Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage
The which if you with patient ears attend
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend." - the prologue, William Shakespeare; Romeo and Juliet

dan (past)
the most beautiful boy i've ever seen is all dressed in white and standing in front of me.

our first time in weeks seeing each other again, it was impossible before. we couldn't risk it because there was a chance we could have been caught.

being caught is always a possibility, but lately everyone's guards have been up and stronger than ever.

we've met inside of the old abandoned church where the people before us came to worship, until there was a fire that severely damaged the buildings foundation. everyone came to the agreement not to waste money on rebuilding it. so here it is, nobody to keep it company except for the flowers and vines that have started to seep inside from the broken windows and doorways.

the roses have wrapped themselves around the old benches where people used to sit, they're a dark shade of red. the building feels cold, and damp. probably because-

"dan."
my thoughts are interrupted by the boy
i mentioned earlier, phil.
"what?"
"you aren't paying attention to me."

"oh." i stand there uncomfortably and awkwardly, shifting my weight from one foot to the other. he stares at me.
"i'm sorry, it's just been a while. there's a lot to talk about but i don't know where to start." i finally say.

"well, you should start talking soon. we don't have much time." phil replies, sounding annoyed. so far, the smallest things have set him off. i can't blame him, there's a lot of stress being put on us and both of the house because we all know something bis going to happen soon. we're just waiting for someone to make the first move.

because of this, our people have been becoming more strict lately and really enforcing rules + laws more than usual.
i stand there, still not knowing how to reply. the feeling in the air is uncomfortable.

"i'm sorry, okay" phil walks closer to me and takes my hand. "it's just hard with all the stress and pressure on us, on all of us right now, you know?"
i nod, because i understand.

"well then let's get down to business." i say, finally thinking of ways to start a good conversation about the things that have happened over the month i haven't seen him.

Money hungry, prideful country
Grass is green and it's always sunny
Hands so bloody, tastes like honey
I'm finding it hard to leave.
