I've always been the quiet kid, always the girl who had no friends at all. The girl who sits in the back of all her classes to be avoided by everyone. No one notices me, and I appreciate that more than being made fun of, or picked on. When we bundled up with partners? I worked with the girl in front of me, and always got stuck doing all the work . I looked up from my book and saw a kid i had never seen before. He had short, dark brown hair, brown eyes and semi-tanned skin. I slumped back into my seat, hoping he wouldn't notice me. Oh, thank god he didn't. When the bell rang, as always, I slowly grabbed my books and quickly made my way towards freedom. Damn, so close. I completely ran into someoe. I looked up to see the new guy and I quickly looked back down. As I picked up my books I cleared my throat a bit,
"I'm Sorry..." I whispered, at least loud enough so he could hear me.
"Nah, don't worry about it. My name is Seth. I just moved here with a few buddies about a week ago and got my schedule changed."
I fumbled for words as he helped me pick up my books.
"I'm Ashley, and i'm not really a big talker, as you can see. Normally, people don't talk to me." I said as he carried my books out into the hallway. I wasn't comfortable with him carrying my things, but I also wasn't uncomfortable with it.
"Not a big talker, huh? Well, you're talking to me right now." He stated and I tried hard not to smile.
"You're not helping, it's hard for me to talk. I'm not a talker, and people think i'm weird. You're to cute to become a weirdo talking to me. I mean... ugh see! This is why I don't talk..." I put my head down and he laughed a bit.
"Cute. Real cute. Sure, I'm new and yeah, I hang with the popular guys, but I like you. So, now we are friends." I was a little shocked at this as he sat my books down at my desk. He then flashed me a smile and left for his class. I sunk down in my seat. I've never been known to talk, but now I was getting plenty of stares after I had been walked to class by the hot, new guy. Surprisingly, no one made fun of him for talking to me, and no one made fun of me for even talking. It actually seemed like they were happy I had talked for once. Before I could grab my stuff after class for 3rd hour, Seth walked in with his buddies. He smiled and walked towards me.
"Guys, this is Ashley. According to her, she is not a big talker, but she'd honestly cool." I had never been acknowledged by anyone popular before, and now it seemed like my whole world flipped upside down. Seth grabbed my books again, and I went to go protest, but decided against it and closed my mouth.
"You can talk it's okay. Seth's friends, are our friends." A blue eyed, brunette haired gorg guy said. He didn't compare to Seth though and I kinda just hung my head low. I then swallowed and said,
"I'm just not big in school, don't like associating with people." quietly, did I mention. They smiled looking towards Seth as I slowly lifted my head,
"You're right Seth, her voice is pretty." A pale, blonde boy said and I blushed.
"Thanks." I said more towards Seth and I smiled a little. I've never smiled like this before. As they, or Seth followed by his friends, walked me to my 3rd hour. I questioned them,
"If all of you are new, how do you know the school top to bottom? How did you become popular so quick? And why me out of all the pretty girls?"
He smiled brightly as his friends laughed a little,
"Alright, slow down Mrs. I Don't Talk Much. First, we had orientation and great memories! Second, Uhm duh? I'm pure sexiness, of course we're popular. And third, shy, quiet girls are the cutest. They don't try to get with us, and they aren't clingy begging for love." I laughed and he smiled,
"Good. You laughed, my goal is finally accomplished!" His friends had walked away and he slipped me a piece of paper before giving me a side hug and going to his class.
