but her solemn expression was a question quite raised,

as her little limbs guided her within the depths of the forest;

she played with the foxes and roamed on broken twigs,

but her mind was a sliver of terror and restless dreams,

so she wept until her eyes turned to an iridescent blue-green,

and eternally slept beneath the moisture of the soil – naïve of her wishes.
