Rhiannon Moorley came from a long line of Slytherin purebloods with one or two halfbloods thrown into the mix. Her ancestors looked down on muggleborns and muggles with disgust. They would surely hate that Rhiannon and her family lived in a simple house in a muggle neighbourhood. Too bad they couldn't do anything about it, being dead and all.

Rhiannon had a few muggle friends. Her parents told her time and time again to not use her magic in front of them. She did regardless. The ministry never called her out on her frequent underage magic because, well, they were too scared. Of her father, to be precise.

Charles Reginald Moorley was a powerful person in the ministry. He even filled in for the Minister at times. He scared everyone. Therefore he and his family got away with almost anything.

Rhiannon had a few magic friends. Fellow Slytherin, Mckayla Oldham and the four Gryffindors: James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew.

Mckayla had been in detention once but that was because she'd been caught with Rhiannon sneaking out after hours to meet up with the Marauders. Other than that, she was a teachers pet. The Marauders were a very different story.

Rhiannon befriended them after taking the blame for one of their pranks in second year after it broke fellow student, Severus Snape's nose. That was the only time they didn't get detention. Ever since, they were inseparable. Her parents blamed them for her many detentions. She blamed her own inability to run away quick enough.

The boys were always jealous of her privilege. How she could use magic outside of school without getting expelled or called into the ministry. It was probably for the best that she didn't use her gift how the quartet begged her to, or she'd be grounded until she graduated.

Entering her fifth year was a big deal. The year Rhiannon took her O.W.L's and, hopefully, pleased her parents with the results. They wanted her to work in the ministry which meant high grades and no distractions or detentions. Of course, being the unofficial fifth marauder, that was easier said than done.

After all, detention was as home to her as the dungeons and she spent the same amount of time in both areas, maybe even more in the former. It was her home from home from home.

She just couldn't stay away.
