More than friends

Band practice

Raritys pov:

I was in my room listening to my favorite song... I only liked it because it reminds me of my best friend applejack. We have been friends for a long time, we go to the same collage and we share the same friendship group. Things have been odd lately though, I feel like maybe I fancy applejack. It all started the day she was outside her English class (I was on my way to English as her class was leaving) and I saw her with rara, now I know that rara is straight she has a boyfriend and only talks to aj when she needs help on her work, but I got angry when she hugged her that's how I knew that I cared for her more than a friend, seeing her in someone else's arms even if it was for a second was far to much for me to handle. I snapped out of my thinking and started singing along to the song I was listening to.

As I was singing it I heard a knock at my bedroom door. I quickly turned my music down come in I yelled, I was surprised when a certain blonde walked in "hey beauts" she always calls me that and I always blush when she does and she knows it, so she keeps doing it. "Why hello darling are you alright" I asked "yeah im good, I was wondering if you want to come to band practice with me, rainbow, pinkie, fluttershy, twilight, sunset and starlight?" I paused a sec, "sure darling id love to, when are we going?", well were kinda going now" "oh okay lets go". We headed over to see aj practice.

Not all of them were in the band twilight, starlight, me, and fluttershy watched and that left rainbow, pinkie, aj and sunset in the band. Rainbow played electric guitar, sunset played air guitar, pinkie played drums and aj played bass, of course aj and rainbow sing, the other two do back up vocals and there band usally sounds pretty good.

We got there as everyone's setting up in rainbows garage, it usually gets set up in ajs barn but with the harvest the barn was full. Rainbows parents werent home for a few days so it gave em time to practice without being told they were to loud. Once everything was set up and the girls had a quick test to make sure there instruments were in tune, they took there positions and so did me, fluttershy starlight and twilight we sat at the front of the garage on some chairs. I heard rainbow speak through the mic "this song was written by aj about a certain someone she's been thinking about" she winked directly at me when she said that and I was shocked, could this be possibly about me? They started playing and fluttershy, twilight  and starlight turned into fan girls (twilights with pinkie, Starlights with sunset, fluttershy is with rainbow and that left me who isnt with aj yet but wanted to be). I was listening to the lyrics and was kind of surprised when I heard aj singing the chorus looking directly at me.

"cos obviously she's outta my league and how can I win she keeps dragging me in and I know I never will be good enough for her"

When they finished that song they played a few more then decided to pack up, all the girls went to eachother and we hugging and kissing and giving congratulations at how well the band played. I walked over to applejack "hey apple jack could I talk to you for a minute please?" "Sure sugarcube, what's up?" She asked I decided to get straight to the point "was that first song about me?" I asked Her face turned bright red "well you see rarity, yes that song was about you, and I wrote it because I know that I will never be good enough to be with you" I stared at her for a minute before I did something that even shocked me I took applejack by her collar and kissed her on the lips, at first she froze but then I felt her kissing me back. We broke the kiss apart and I spoke "applejack you will always be good enough for me no matter what I love you" then I kissed her again, this time there was no hesitation as she kissed me back, I had never felt happier than I did in that moment.
