Before a flower dies, its petals
often fall. The colors, the beauty,
stripped from this source of life.
How do people do it? How do they
just cut away something so fragile,
so precious, as though its own life
is not nearly as important as their own?
Because a flower is not a flower
once its petals fall.
It is just the corpse of beauty.
