She had bought the necklace at a costume store for cheap; it wasn't of any real material, but it was a beautiful fit for her Halloween outfit.
So, she didn't take much notice when the seller said, "No refunds."
The following weekend, on Halloween night, she slipped the necklace on, smiled, and left home.
She was found dead in the streets the next morning.
Her elegant neck had been cut to bone; nearly decapitated, they said.
It was... odd, though: the cuts were... precise. Patterned.
No necklace could be found, either.
Well, besides her new necklace of red, of course.
