Nothing. He had been searching all day.
Absolutely nothing. Every single one of his friends (Basically everyone that isn't Stone) had
disappeared this very morning.
He beat his wings to fly higher.
Concentrating, he squeezed his eyes shut and thought about Kody, his precious Nekoda.
He screamed out into the night.
" It isn't fair! You can't do this to me!"
He wrapped himself into a self-hug.
I can't do this, He thought.
There MUST be an answer somewhere.
I'm all alone, as usual.
Nick tucked his wings in and dove.
The air whistled around him as the ground quickly approached.
At the last second, he spread his wings and jerked out of the dive, then came to rest on the sidewalk pavement. He didn't bother checking the street for witnesses. It seemed the entire population (demon or otherwise) had vanished off the face of the earth.
And his mother had gone with them.
"Mom!" , He growled. "I swear I will find you and kill whoever or whatever has taken you from me. No matter what it takes."
