I have a secret dream
A wishful fantasy
Beyond my reach
Yet still, I hope
Hope for that day
When my dream lives
I have a secret dream
Nobody knows, but me
I keep it hidden well
No one can tell
They don’t see what I want
What lies within my heart
All they see is sensible me
Could there be more to me?
Could I be the different girl-
I wish to be in my secret dream?
Yes, I have a dream of flying away
Finding my own storybook ending
Living daringly; finding my prince
Searching for that happily ever after
That perfect ending,
Which all girls want
And some girls find
My secret dream
I wish I could live a life of adventure
Be out in the world, to see a new life
I want to be someone who I’ll never be
And I know, I will never be
I will never live my secret dream
I will be a sensible girl, with a sensible life
I will never live my secret dream
My secret dream of flying away
Finding my own happy ending
My secret dream is just a dream
