her mind was a garden.

her mind was a garden
with flowers that lacked under nourishment
harmonising colours painted the walls of her brain
nobody else ever saw this garden
well they did
but they didn't see the sign that said 'do not step'
in their defense, they didn't step
they trampled their way through that beautiful world she had created
of course it was only because they desperately wanted even a mere weed in their own minds
but she wasn't to know this
so she let them trample that garden
until all that remained was rubble
and not rubble that roses miraculously sprouted out of
rubble that set alight

a/n. this is strongly about bullying though you can interpret this however you wish (:

the idea of the garden is a metaphor for her creativity and sadly people often view creativity as weirdness.
the line "it was only because they desperately wanted even a mere weed" is referring to the fact that people often bully others because they're jeaulous/have their own difficulties.

of course, this is no excuse, however it helps to remember that these bullies are also humans who probably need much more help than they're prepared to ask for.
