Virginia my home sweet home chapter 1

Ah Virginia my home sweet home. Oh you probably never been here huh. Well I'm gonna tell ya about my state but first hi my name is y/n Catello I am a only child, i live with my mother and my father. My whole life I've been working on the farm caring for the animals and such. I'm not really a girly girl but my mother want me to act like one. You probably might be thinking what am I doing? Well I'm going home to help my father. Anyway here is my story.
"Y/n can you please help me with this!" My father says.
"Hold on father!" I rush over to help him pull out this old dead bush.
"Thank you darling, does your mother know your home yet?"
"No why?"
"Well you better get all cleaned up or shell have a fit."
I notice my work dress was all covered in dirt from the bush. As I went inside and rushed to my room. As I took the dress off I couldn't find the one I had out earlier.
"Shit where did i put the dress?!"
"Looking for this?" My mother comes in holding my dress.
"Hi...mother..."
"Y/n what did I tell you about getting your dressss dirty. Look at it! You have to act like a proper lady! No man will fall in love with you if you work like a hill Billy!"
"Come on mother I was helping father outside with work!"
"No excuse! Now get ready cause dinner is gonna be ready soon."
As I got dress I looked out my window. Looking at all the animals roaming around. I wish I was like them not being a proper lady just...be free.
I saw my father outside as a man road up. I saw him talk to my father. He handed him a letter as my father opened it. The man left after that. Something wasn't right.
