DESIRING OBLIVION

She ponders,

And as I sit, watching,

I can almost see her reaching,

Fingers outstretched

For what she can't have,

But what she desires still.

It hurts,

This unconditional want

This addiction to oblivion

That is so uncharacteristic.

An addiction, like all, that could either

Make her

Or break her.
