Lesson 1 The Alphabet

Before you can learn how to write or speak a new language it's important to know the alphabet or Characters. 

Most apps you get expect you to already know the characters but that isn't the case with many people. this happened to me when i first started learning so i looked them up on my own and started there.

suggestion grab a paper and write this down on flash cards. use these flash cards whenever you have nothing to do this will help you memorizing them.

ok to start off well go with the easiest of them all 

the ㅇ 

ㅇ can sound like nothing or ng depending on where it is placed. for example 

안녕 for 안 the ㅇ is silent. and 녕 it sounds like ng. ill teach you 안녕 later 

this is the only one i have to explain out the rest are a given. 

ㄴ sounds like n 

ㅁ sounds like an m

ㄹ sounds like an R/L depending on the word 

ㅎ sounds like h

ㅗ sounds like an o 

ㅓ sounds like an eo 

ㅏ sounds like an a

ㅣsounds like i/e again depending on how its written 

ㅋ sounds like an k 

ㅌ sounds like a T

ㅊsounds like a ch 

ㅍ sounds like a p 

ㅠ sounds like yu 

ㅜ sounds like a u

ㅡ sounds like ue 

ㅂ sounds like a b or p again depending on what the word is 

ㅈ sounds like a j 

ㄷ sounds like a d 

ㄱ sounds like a g

ㅅ sounds like a s 

ㅛ sounds like yo 

ㅕ sounds like Yeo

ㅑ sounds like Ya

ㅐ sounds like ae 

ㅔ sounds like ae
