You are not a gentleman

Your eyes were like bark,
So dull and dark,
But you still managed to captivate me.

You kept me hidden,
I was forbidden,
To be anywhere that wasn't your side.

Then one day you snapped,
I lashed right back,
And walked away from a stupid mistake.

Cause two years later,
Our son is mine,
And you are no father to this small child.

He's strong and caring,
Loving, daring,
A gentleman, something you'll never be.
