Mankind has spread far and wide across the stars. The further inward you go, the more civilized the territories become, or so it seems. But the further out you are, the more savage, dangerous, and unforgiving they become.
Thus far, humans are alone among the stars, but that has not brought us lasting peace or understanding. Governments, corporations, indepdent colonies, clans, individuals and even full scale interstellar empires all compete with one another, both internally and externally. If there is one thing the Frontier of known, explored, colonized space is not, it's peaceful.
