Leslie woke up with a start, she was sweating profusely and her face was wet with tears.

"It was just a dream", she mumbled to herself, taking a sip from her water that was on her bedside table. She lay her head in her hands and sighed deeply. Looking at her clock, she groaned, 6:15. As much as she would love to go back to sleep she knew it was impossible, no way could she go to sleep after a dream like that. An hour later she was showered and ready for school.

"I'll see you later mom", she called to her mother who was in the kitchen figuring out how her new phone worked.

"Bye Leslie have a good day", her mother replied as Leslie shut the front door and left her alone in the house.

"How am I supposed to have a good day in a place where I have to sit in a hard cold chair all day and not a nice warm sofa", she mumbled under her breath as the bus pulled up to pick her up. She slowly got in and sat on a seat on her own with a bag beside her so no one would sit beside her.

_______

"Amelia, Shauna", Leslie called down the corridor and her two best friends quickly turned around their eyes brightening up when they saw her. They quickly hurried to meet each other, all talking at once about absolutely nothing.

"Girls, Adam is being such a dick again", Amelia yawned, complaining about her curly head boyfriend who seemed to always piss her off.

"What now?" Leslie rolled her eyes pretending to care when really she was sick of having to listen to Amelia complain about Adam again for the fifteenth time that week.

"He got so mad at me last night because he texted me to hang out with him today after school but I can't, I have work and he was so pissed off. He went on about how I don't care about him and the only person that I do care about is myself. He called me selfish and I'm sick of it, how am I supposed to always make time for him", she huffed, Leslie sighed and raised her eyebrows at all the appropriate moments.

"How do you put up with him all the time?" She asked her best friend. Amelia ran her hand over her blond ponytail. She was the smallest out of the trio but the oldest, she was also the craziest who didn't give a shit about anything. Leslie often envied her fearlessness and ability to never overthink anything.

"Yeah, he seems to be making you annoyed all the time lately", Shauna agreed, she too had blond hair and blue eyes. She was the more confident one who could talk to any one at all and make it like she knew you all her life. There was something about her that attracted all the guys attention, she was a little taller than Amelia and a little smaller than Leslie.

"Shhh there he is", Leslie hushed her friends who couldn't talk about anyone quietly. Adam walked briskly down the corridor his curly hair bouncing with each step he took, Leslie stifled a giggle he was in definite need of a hair cut.

"Oh my god will you ever get a haircut", Amelia laughed nudging her boyfriend who glared at her back.

"I happen to like it like this", he shrugged as his best friend Chris approached from behind him. Leslie smiled at him, but he never truly seen her. She had the biggest crush on him the last five years in school but eventually had to brush it off knowing that she was never going to be his type. Seeing as he had a girlfriend for the majority of those years it was understandable that she never really got a chance to try and even get to know him.

The bell rang for class and Leslie walked off quickly, not wanting to be late. Leslie sat down at the back seat in History and he sat beside her. Joseph sat beside her. She smiled at him but he was rooting in his bag for the homework he obviously didn't do. Amelia and Shauna entered next, chatting and laughing about God knows what. They raised a brow at Leslie when they seen who was sitting beside her and she rolled her eyes at them.
