(And why I recommend it)

On the 22nd of March I had the opportunity to watch The Lion King in the Lyceum Theatre in London, and let's just say I REALLY enjoyed it. You are probably thinking, Well why did you enjoy it?  This is why I am writing this blog to tell you about  my experience going to London in the Lyceum Theatre to watch it.

To start of, me and my piers found our seats inside of the theatre. In general, it seemed that all the seats were quite nice and that even if you were further away from the stage, there were binoculars that you could use to see the stage clearer. After around 10 minutes of waiting, the play had begun. I cannot use words good enough to explain how great my experience of watching The Lion King was! Just incase people reading this have not watched or read The Lion King, I will not spoil certain parts of the play that include the storyline, however all I shall say is that all the characters from the Disney film of The Lion King were represented perfectly; The actors also showed great enthusiasm to the play and added comical parts to it, making the play even better. Here are my top 3 reasons ( not in any specific order) why I liked watching The Lion King as a play:
1) The costumes were AMAZING
Everyone's costume in The Lion King, was very fascinating; moreover the props that they used to add on to their costume had lots of intricate detail. For example, the gazelles used, were designed so that people could carry beautifully painted, wooden, gazelles. The actors then carrying the gazelles would leap into the air, as if they too were one with the gazelle. As well as that, another example is that the lions ( including Simba, Nala, Scar, and other general lions) would wear big wooden lion masks that would rest slightly above their head. As a result, from a side view of the actor, you would be able to see a side angle of both the actor and the lion mask. Of course, there were many other lovely costumes used in the play, it's just that I was
especially fascinated by these ones.

2) They sang REALLY WELL!!!Firstly, I am going to say that the quality of the actors' voices were really good! In other words, the actors could sing really well! From the start till the end of the play, the actors projected their voices well, so t...

2) They sang REALLY WELL!!!
Firstly, I am going to say that the quality of the actors' voices were really good! In other words, the actors could sing really well! From the start till the end of the play, the actors projected their voices well, so that their voices were still strongly heard from the back of the theatre. Moreover, in the songs (e.g the circle of life), the actors added different tones of voices for each song and layered them together. What I mean by this, is that there was a variety of different voices used in the play; therefore, when they built up the voices during the songs, it was quite nice to hear all of the voices together to create one voice in unison.

3) The backgrounds of each scene were decorated very extravagantly! My last thing to say about the play is that the backgrounds were decorated very nicely and contained lots of intricate detail, and lots of colour

My last thing to say about the play is that the backgrounds were decorated very nicely and contained lots of intricate detail, and lots of colour. This made the experience fantastic, as the backgrounds may have been simple, but contained subtle details. My personal favourite background was the one which contained Simba as a child being painted onto a tree.

Altogether, I very much liked my experience watching The Lion King

Altogether, I very much liked my experience watching The Lion King. The only thing that could have been slightly better is that, because it had so many wonderful props and character costumes, it became full of many amazing things that I could not take in all at the same time. However, it was an incredible opportunity that I was glad I could watch.

Thank you for reading! Please leave a comment of what you thought about my work; constructive criticism would be really great, but I would like any feedback possible about my work! Please get as many people to read this and leave feedback on it! Thank you in advanced :)
