"Okay class quiet down please" Mr.Hedge says as he stands at the front of the class "Can anyone tell me what is happening today"
"Imma be a great father to a fake baby" Jake said from the front of the class
"Yea cause you are sooo great to the two real ones" Mel says under her breath
"Uncalled for Mel" I say
"Am I wrong tho?" She says raising her eyebrow
"You got me there" I say laughing
"Correct, Partly. Today we start project baby. The project worth 25% of your grade that Seniors either love or hate." A grown falls over the class. "This year we have changed the system, we will be choosing your partners" a 'what' is spoken from almost everyone in the class "Let me finish" he says and waits for the class to stop taking "The saying is opposites attracted so thats what we've done. Each of you have a partner that is your opposite. I will call you name, you will come up and I will explain why I chose for you who you have."
"I hope I get Justin" Mel says turning to me
"Blake or Wilson?" I ask
"Blake duh" She says looking over her shoulder at the brunette green-eyed boy
"I doubt it, you guys are like the same person" I say and she turns quickly back to me
"We are not!" She says
"Oh please you both are shy when you first meet people, you both go to all school events, you are both popular shy kids, plus you both have this weird obsession with Taco Bell" I say
"Just cause two people like the same food doesnt mean we are the same person" She says
"IM just saying I see yall more of as Best Friends. Plus isn't he like gay?" I ask
"No!" She says
"But didnt he like make out with Derek at that party" I say
"Yea and Abby" She says
"So is he gay or a hoe?" I ask trying to piss her off
"Are you an idiot or a dumbass?" She says annoyed "He probably bi like you"
"Keep telling yourself that babe" I say pulling her into a tight hug to annoy her.
"Mellisa Renay" Mr.Hedge says
"Wish me luck" she says standing up
"Your partner is Ryan. I've chosen you guys because I mean is like light vs dark" He says
"Out of all people Ryan Stalvey!" She says sitting in her chair angry "He's like, he weirdes me out"
"I love Ryan" I say smirking at her
"Then you be his partner" she says hitting me "I wonder who Justin got"
"Guess we will find out" I say as we watch him walk to the front of the room
"Justin Blake your partner will be Raegan beast" Hedges says
"What!" Mel says as I walk to the front
"I've chosen you two because school lover and hater has to make something great" he says with a smile "please everyone sit next to your co-parent."
I walk over and sit next to Justin. "Hey" I say
"Hey" He says back
"So um-" I start
"Listen, we dont talk, and I dont expect us to become best friends but please don't make this awkward. You know shit about me, I know shit about you. Lets just get it over with" He says looking at me
"Okay" is all I can say because Idk what else to tell him. Long story short, Justin and I grew up in the same neighborhood and both found out some shit about each other.
We get called up to get our fake, creepy baby. "Please pick a name and fill out the birth certificate" Hedges says
"What should we name her?" I ask as we sit down
"I like Maddie" he says
"Okay, Maddie Beast Blake" I say as I fill out the dumbass piece of paper that will determine if I graduate.
I look over to see Justin rocking the pretend baby. I smile and he looks up "What" he says blushing
"Your gonna make a good partner" I say smiling back at him
