Deafening Silence

I'll never forget that look in his eye.

He appeared to be almost ready to cry.

He'd been staring at his feet as he walked down the hall,

Then a group of jocks shoved him into the wall.

They thought it was funny, and they thought it was cool,

To pick on the freak, the new kid in school.

They pushed him around as they roared with laughter.

They wouldn't feel any regret until the day after.

When they were done, he had a black eye.

No one stopped to help, they walked right on by.

I wanted to help but I was too far,

but by the time I reached him he was at his car.

I was completely outraged, how could they be so inhumane?

Leaving him there in humiliation and pain.

If one person would have stopped just to see if he was ok,

We might have avoided the tragedy coming the next day.

When he walked into the school, he had a gun in his pack.

As he stepped through the door, someone punched him in the back.

He had taken enough, so he pulled the gun out.

He threw his arm up as he began to shout.

He screamed he hated them all, and he wished they would die,

Because of all of the times they had made him cry.

He said he had to show them how they'd made him feel.

He had to show them it wasn't fun, the pain he felt was real.

He held the gun out as he started to cry.

He said, "Karma's a bitch, now you have to die!"

He squinted his eyes, trying to fight back the tears,

Then he shot at all of the bad memories from over the years.

He opened his eyes and looked all around,

Awestruck by all of the bodies lying on the ground.

He hadn't intended on killing them, just giving them a scare,

But now that it is over, all he can do is stare.

He's staring into darkness, into complete oblivion,

Unable to understand why he is holding a gun.

The silence is deafening, he can't hold a complete thought.

Images are flashing in his head of all the ones he shot.

This wasn't what he planned, it all happened so fast,

But there is nothing he can do, it's now in the past.

He could hear the police coming, and the ambulance, too.

He feared what would happen when they found out the truth.

They wouldn't take into account what they had put him through,

They would only be worried about what it made him do.

So, now he holds the gun up to the side of his head.

He pulls the trigger, and bang, now he's dead.

The moral to this story is that violence has a domino effect.

It also shows that bully control is not something to neglect.

I don't think teen violence will ever really be stopped,

Because the anger emotion is the most commonly used prop.

A/N: Help stop bullying in your school. The masses out number the bullies, and if you stand together, You can be victorious. As Cesar said, "Ape alone is weak, but Apes together are strong"
