The opening of the play is a poem on society. It can either be split between the 3 girls or it can be spread out by all the characters. A spot light goes on to each girl as they speak. Lou - in her early twenties, tomboyish, with panda top with denim shorts, doesn't care how she looks. Jen - in her early twenties, gothic , black tank tops and jeans, confident in her body. Abbie - in her early twenties, cute, reserved, aware of her appearance.
Lou: when I think of our world, and the people so many, I can't help but be aware of topics that are heavy.
Jen: the topics we've pushed into the back, are now clear at our feet, all layered in fact.
Abbie: these topics forgotten are now considered taboo, the way we act, the way we talk , the things that we do.
Lou: how do you pronounce it, did I say the right thing, political correctness somehow we all need to cling.
Jen: I don't want to offend, I don't want to be mean, but somethings got to be said so I'll try to keep it clean.
Abbie: we all have a voice, that's true indeed, but not every group is equally seen.
Lou: so here is a play that's simple but true of 3 girls who are just figuring out what to do.
