You threw the wine in his face before scooping up the bottle and smashing it down over his head, the alcohol in your system bringing out your violent side like it always did. It was a side of yourself you hated, but no matter how much you promised yourself you wouldn't drink anymore, you couldn't stop yourself. The glass shattered and fell to the floor, creating a glittering effect across the ground beneath your feet.

You cried out as your boyfriend leapt to his feet, blood pouring down his face as he shoved you against the bar. You whimpered as he grabbed your hair, slamming your head down onto the counter again, and again, harder each time. You could no longer feel the pain, and you felt like a rag doll in his hands. As if on a whim, he dropped you; you didn't make a sound as your body fell to the floor, your knees being sliced by the glass that littered the floor.

You were used to it by now; the endless nights of drinking, men trying to take you home, the raging pain inside of you that refused to leave. You came from a large family, but your mother had almost always been checked out on the pills that let her escape your abusive, manipulative father. You had left as soon as you had saved enough money to get your own place, but even now, years later, escaping completely seemed almost like a joke.

He muttered something you couldn't hear before raising the remains of the broken bottle in his hand, like one would wield a club. He brought it down, sweeping it in a long arc down towards your crumpled, already broken form. You opened your eyes at the last moment, your breath coming in ragged gasps.

You were alone.

You sat up in bed, looking out over Seoul, at the city with it's never-ending supply of light from the hundreds of office buildings that dotted the landscape for miles. The view was breath taking, and you smiled faintly to yourself as you looked out. It had been two years since you had left your less than ideal boyfriend, and it was good. Sure, you had cared for him, but you had never truly been happy with him.

The endless drinking had made you into a monster, and the fighting never stopped. In a moment of pensive thought, you traced a long scar on your hip as a memory came back to you of one of the thousands of times you had gotten drunk. Only this time you had been by yourself and had fallen from the counter, tipsily trying to reach to the top shelf for another bottle. You were lucky you only bruised your arm on the counter, and not landed on your head.

You rubbed your face in your pillow, burrowing into the remaining warmth of your bed before you sat up. You glanced around the room, your face falling when you realized he wasn't there. "Seunghyun?" You called tentatively. There was no answer. You flopped back against the cushions, a pout across your face. You ran a neatly manicured hand through your spiky, pixie cut hair and sighed. Of course you have a bad dream when he isn't there.

You were about to roll over and go back to sleep when the door was pushed open. The tall man pushed through the door, his silver hair glistening in the early morning light that seeped through the floor-to-ceiling curtains. "Good morning." He smiled at you broadly, his lips curling up into the goofiest smile ever.

He suddenly seemed to notice the melancholy look on your face and stopped. "You're sad. Did you think I'd leave?" You hesitated, then nodded at his question, not meeting his piercing gaze. He sat on the bed and gently pushed your hair back. "Not today... Happy birthday, baby." You leaned into his touch, grinning widely. It was crazy how happy one person could make you.

"Where's my present?" You suddenly asked, making him laugh. "What present? Aren't I enough for you?" You shook your head playfully, digging your hands into his pockets as he toppled you backwards. You giggled as he pinned you down, growling at you before stealing a light kiss.

"Fuzzy." You commented, reaching up to touch the hair on his face. He grinned and rubbed his face against your cheek, making you shriek with laughter.

You whacked him, struggling to get away from him, but he only held you tighter. "Oppa!" You protested, grabbing at his hands with yours as he tickled you mercilessly. You wrapped your legs around him and pressed against him in an effort to get away from his torturous hands.

He finally slowed to a stop and held you carefully. You kissed him softly, smiling to yourself as he returned the gesture.

"You're mean." You mumbled into his chest, making him rumble with laughter. "You know how ticklish I am and you just use it to your advantage." You pouted up at him. He shrugged lightly. "You still love me, so what's your point?" He paused and sat up, looking at you with a serious yet excited light in his eyes. "Do you want your present now?" He asked, making you grin and sit up quickly. You nodded. "Yes! Present." You grinned cheekily to yourself as he got up. You watched him go, flopping back into the pillows when he disappeared.

You hugged the pillow tightly from happiness. It really was amazing how happy just one person could make you.

TABI POV: I pushed the door open slightly, watching the petite woman as she buried herself into the pillow. Sure, I was scared to death, but I still had to ask her. I felt my heart swell as I stared at her; how her short legs clenched around the pillow because she could barely contain her excitement, how she curled herself into a ball until she couldn't stand it any more and spazzed outward. I laughed to myself as she sprang to her feet, giggling at herself as she stood there in my shirt and her boyshorts.

I pushed the door the rest of the way open and walked in, holding the plate with the small cake on it. She turned and saw me, flaming bright red before abruptly sitting down with a small 'ouh' as she plopped down. I laughed aloud, making her glare at me as I came closer. I sat in front of her, handing her a fork. "This isn't your birthday present, but a birthday isn't a birthday without a cake. Right?" I asked her.

She nodded happily, ignoring the fork I tried to hand her and climbed into my lap. "AH! Feed me." She grinned at me, opening her mouth wide. "What are you?" I asked, grinning down at her. "Incapacitated?" She shrugged and pointed to her mouth. "AHHHHH!" I shook my head at her, but still picked up a bite of cake with my fork. I brought it closer to her lips, and just as I began to feel quite proud of how none of it fell, the whole thing rolled off the fork and landed on the side of her face.

She stared up at me for a long second before a mischievous light sprang into her eyes. "You did that on purpose." She said coldly. I shook my head quickly. "Ani! It was-!" She brought her hand up, smushing the rest of the cake into my face before leaping to her feet and running. I sprang to my feet, reaching blindly for her, but she was gone.

I turned, starting to feel my way towards the bathroom to wash my face when she sprang on to my back and wrapped her legs around my waist. "Oppa... Don't be mad." I wiped my hand across my face calmly, speaking to her in a soft tone. "It's ok. I'm not mad." I could feel her relax as she laid her head on my shoulder. In one swift motion, I reached behind myself and swiped the handful of icing across her butt. "Not mad at all, baby."

I didn't even have to see her to know the shocked expression that crossed her face. She shrieked and let go, dropping to the ground as I cracked up. She ran for the bathroom, slamming the door behind her. I took my shirt off quickly, wiping most of the icing off my face before reaching into my pocket and pulling out the black ring. It was unusual, but knowing her... she'd love it. I studied it for the last time, taking note of each of the tiny white diamonds making the petals of a flower around the blue sapphire center. Definitely unusual.

I peeked into the bathroom, immediately ducking as she threw the soap at me. She hid behind the shower curtain, wrapping it around herself while shouting at me about only having underwear on. I looked up at her innocently. "What? I'm not looking... Just giving you your birthday present." She glared at me. "I don't- what are you doing?"

She watched me carefully as I got down on one knee, holding the ring out to her inside the tiny black box. I looked up at her, smiling as her eyes rounded and she dropped the shower curtain to cover her mouth without thinking about it. I took a deep breath as I stared up into her eyes, my heart hammering in my chest like a thousand woodpeckers in July. "Will you marry me?"
