Anastasia

I had watched in horror as my father was killed by a giant scorpion sent by Mother Earth herself. My own Mother was nowhere to be found.

I clutched my bow, holding it in the shadows so moonlight couldn't reflect off the silver. Carefully readjusting the pack on my shoulders, I turned and ran, thinking about how bravely my father fought and accepted his fate.

I had wanted so desperately to help him, but the Fates wouldn't allow it.

Stop. I told myself. Tis just a dream, a nightmare I think she called it. Yes, a nightmare.

"Anastasia," someone poked my shoulder. "Anastasia, wake up."

"Hmmmm?"

"Wake up. It's time to get moving," the voice replied softly.

"Mum," I whined.

"I'm sorry, my child, but the time is now. You have slept for many millennia, and it's no longer safe for you here."

I opened my golden eyes, "I wish not to leave you."

"Would you rather join the Hunters?" She asked, sadness in her voice.

I looked down, "no. Not after what happened to Father."

She nodded, "I'm sending you to an old friend on mine, he'll know who you are. Grab your things."

With sadness in my heart and tears in my eyes, I shouldered my pack and quiver, clipped my daggers to my belt, and gripped my bow tightly.

I stepped forward to embrace my Mother, but stopped when I saw the tears running down her face. As she sent me away, I heard her sweet voice one last time.

"Goodbye my sweet child, we will meet again. Say hello to Chiron for me."

Hullo, this is a Percy Jackson fanfic. It's my first time trying something like this, so please bear with me.
