INTRO

SURVIVAL INSTINCT

❝ In this world, we just need to survive ❞

Vega was from a planet where, if you couldn't survive, you'd be forced to. Seeing as the planet of Alula was eighty percent water, with a large enough island in the middle of it all, they used that as their arena. If any of their residents were deemed unworthy to live amongst the rest, they were forced out into the vicious waters; where they determined if you lived or perished. And amongst all of the Alulans, Vega was thrown into the arena.

Amongst over a hundred others of her own species, she was forced to fight to the death, and that wasn't just against them. The waters of Alula were highly inhabited by dangerous predators, those who could swallow you whole, or take their sweet time to tear you to shreds. That was her biggest fear with the event they called, ❛Emundationem infirma ❜ (the cleansing of the weak). Vega didn't know what her odds would be in such an event, but she feared that they were not to be very good.

But, against all odds (and bets, seeing as the Alulan people thrived off of the winnings of said event), Vega made it out alive. With only a few major scars that decorated her arms and legs, as well as damage to her mental health, she was considered 'okay.' That wasn't the only thing about the Alulan that had changed as she was in that arena; she changed drastically. Not only did she become a survivor and a warrior, but as a murderer as well.

In the span of a week, the Nova Corps were sent to the planet to arrest Vega for the murder of over three dozen Alulans. She was to be sent to the prison of Kyln, and yet, she never made it there. Instead, she was intercepted by a ship known as the Dark Aster, where a woman—who was more robot than an actual person—took her from the Nova Corps and brought her aboard.

That was when Vega had met Nebula, and she couldn't tell if she was the bad influence, or if Nebula was in their relationship.

So here it is! I say this all the time, but I do mean it, I didn't expect to write a Nebula fic because I don't know much about her, but I love research so here we go! This plot isn't mine it belongs to the lovely starfragment and I really appreciate her trusting me with yet another one of her amazing plots and I hope I do it justice.
