Popular English weekly, the Sunday Times, published a much-hyped story in which it brazenly accused the Qatar authorities of playing foul in order to acquire the hosting rights for FIFA World Cup 2022, the most prominent sporting event on earth.

Since the 1980s, the Weekly has been majorly operating on the directives of the influential Press empire News Corporation, which is owned by the huffish businessman Rupert Murdoch. Moreover, Murdoch is famous for his extremist ideology. Plus, he has been accused of using the entire media of the Galaxy News Corporation in conjunction with his ideology, serving his personal financial interests.

Nicholas McGeehan, NGO Human Watch researcher said, "Rupert Murdoch, the owner of the Sunday Times, is a long-time business partner of Mohammed bin Zayed, the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates."

So, the weekly has all the reasons to defame Qatar, in order to take away the hosting rights from the gas-rich country.
