Being a grim reaper isn't as bad as the movies make it out to be. In fact, I would go as far as to say it's a pretty decent job. We're unionized, we get milestone bonuses, dental coverage and long-term job security.
The gig itself is pretty simple, albeit dry. You just have to help newly deceased pass on to the afterlife. Au contraire to popular belief, "passing on", is more than a brief walk into the light. In fact, it's mostly paperwork. If you're lucky, you'll be assigned to a good grim reaper (like me) and you will be moving on to the afterlife in about 10 business days. If you're stuck with a newbie or an invalid, it can take up to much, much longer. That's also where the myth of "49 days" comes from.
Sure, there are better and more exciting you could be doing, but it could be worse.
You could be dead.
You may be wondering, "Who is the cocky son-of-a-gun, who is so openly breaking the fourth wall?".
Easy, my name is Kim Myung Joon, the best grim reaper in the country."
