Planning alone for this book took several months before it was felt to be the right time to even begin writing. For this piece of writing, I am taking time to focus on diction that feels perfect to me and how I wish to portray my unique and complex universe, so chapters may roll out slowly, but they will come! In this first chapter of this story, my intent is to not introduce the main protagonist, but rather immediately introduce the antagonist instead. The first chapter throws him front and center and displays a first look into some of his abilities and strengths, but he is much more complex than what the rest of the world may see. Lastly, Sal, the temporary protagonist, is NOT a throw away character. Remember him and may the City of Gold prosper til the end of days... however soon that may be.
