- Summarize. Only write down the important stuff that you'll most likely need on the test. This can be used in your summary of the main points you will need to know.
- Pay Attention. Sure, your friends may lend you notes but that just exposes being irresponsible you are if you keep bugging them.
- When possible, try to keep your notes minimal and only put down the notes you'll need for studying. Don't write a whole book.
- Use highlighters for vocabulary or important things
- Leave gaps if you miss something so you can fill it out later
- If the lecture goes by too fast, try recording notes
- Make it presentable, easy and nice to look at. Never know if someone next to you will need notes!
- Use • or - to bullet your notes.
- If you're studying for something, try reading it your instructors voice. It will help you retain information better for the test
- If you're allowed, keep an Everything Notebook where you keep all your notes from all your classes and make them nicer on the actual notebook you use for that class (Revision Notebooks).
