"Hurry up, Ash! Dad's bringing the truck back home in a few minutes!"

Ash sighed as she stared at her unfamiliarily empty bedroom. Outside, rain poured down on the roof and windows of the Magria household. Ash picked up a few stray boxes and gathered them into the corner, along with many others.

Ash and her family were moving away from Ireland to Canada due to her parents being tired of the 'unlucky weather', referring to the rain. Ash didn't understand how snow was any better than rain. She was used to the rain, especially in her part of Ireland. But she didn't bother arguing with her parents. It would probably end with her bedroom becoming the crawl space under the stairs inside of their new house, even if the house didn't have a crawl space. Ash was confident that her parents would find a way.

Meanwhile, Ash's twin sister, Aya, was ecstatic about the move. Her sister always wanted to travel to a different continent, and now she finally had her chance. Ash, however, was extremely hesitant. She was moving in the middle of grade 6, one of the worst times she considered moving. Ash wasn't socially awkward or anything. She just had a feeling that she would know absolutely nothing that they were learning in Canada opposed to Ireland. Her mother and father disregarded that fact and decided to move anyways.

The rain slowed as Ash gathered her small trinkets and knick-knacks and put them into a box. The door opened downstairs and a heavy pair of feet stomped into the house.

"Hurry it up, girls!" Her dad's heavy Irish accent rang through the house. "Get your boxes out to the truck! Anything left behind is getting thrown out!" Ash sighed. She grabbed a few boxes in her skinny arms and shuffled her way downstairs and out into the rainy weather. She dumped the boxes into her side of the backseat and went back inside the house. She repeated this process until all of her boxes were safely stored into the small truck.

Aya was inside of her bedroom, grabbing her notes and letters from her many friends at their middle school. Ash peeked inside of her sister's room and rolled her eyes before walking back to her own room. She stared at the mint green walls with white clovers and sighed heavily. "I'm goin'a miss this place," she thought aloud. Ash heard her accent ring inside of the empty room. She wondered how the people at her new middle school would welcome her. On the outside, Ash didn't care. But on the inside, her heart pounded at the thought of people saying, "Where's my Lucky Charms?" over and over and over-

Ash's mom stepped inside of her room. "Ash! Stop staring at the wall and get into the van! Your dad's driving the truck to the airport." Ash nodded wordlessly. Her mom sighed quietly and walked out of the room. Ash grabbed a large bag full of clothes and entertainment items for the road. She closed the door to her room behind her as she left.

The family was outside of the house, throwing a few forgotten boxes into the trucks or situating their pillows and blankets for the drive. Ash turned and glanced at her 'old' house. She grabbed her phone out of her pocket and took a picture of the house. Satisfied, she hopped into her seat in the van and prepared herself for the journey ahead.
