i. love and longing

"take it off, dummy,"
he chuckled as he splashed
in the murky water.

i squinted my eyes at him and then
unbuttoned my shirt, tiptoeing
into the cool water.

why that boy had decided to swim in this particular lake was beyond me. it was a dirty green color, and the scenery surrounding
it wasn't anything special.

i rolled my tongue over my chapped lip as i trudged through the oozing wetland,
desperate for moisture.

jungkook smiled lazily, water droplets dripping down his face. it was a sight for sore eyes.

i smiled back half heartedly and ran my hand over the surface of the lake.

"i want to drown," he stated out of the blue, floating on his back.

"why?" i asked and gazed into the horizon.

"so that you'd miss me."
