LEANING MY HEAD AGAINST THE SIDE OF THE PLANE WINDOW, I NODDED AT JJ AS SHE HANDED ME A FRESH CUP OF COFFEE. It'd taken two days after working at the BAU for Agent Jareau to tell me to call her JJ. Just as it had taken two days after working at the BAU for the other agents to stop whispering and staring at me every time I moved.
The last two weeks had been—in comparison to what my old normal was—boring. Not much had happened, for I'd been solely focused on doing my best at being an F.B.I. agent, despite still feeling that I didn't deserve to be there. So far, I believe I've done it adroitly. Hotch seemed satisfied with my contributions, and that was all that mattered.
For the majority of the two weeks, after my first case, my days had been spent on paperwork and mandatory training exercises that Morgan insisted he and JJ run me through. Fortunately for me, all the training exercises were on self-defense, fighting, and firearms—three areas that I'd already been trained through by Matthew Campbell and the Jarrod Brothers. Also known as the three areas of combat that neither Morgan nor JJ had been expecting me to be not only proficient in, but at an almost mastery level. Due to my previous training, the training exercises were completed much sooner than predicted, but I think that both Morgan and JJ were more than happy that they were over.
