New term, same school

It was the beginning of term, and everyone was politely filing into the school. Ahin grabbed her luggage and joined the queue, looking around for her best friends, and saw Daisy skipping across the road to where she was standing.

"Have you seen Joo Won yet?" Daisy asked.

"Nah, she turns up at odd times. But I'm sure she'll come round." Ahin replied.

They had endured several terms of quiet, and to be honest, all this quiet was kind of boring. But hey, this is the price for peace and nothingness. And everyone got great comments from teachers.

Suddenly, whispers rippled in the crowd. That was unusual. Ahin craned her head to look at all the fuss.

"Daisy ah, what's going on in front?" Ahin asked.

"Beats me." Daisy said, munching bread. Ahin suspected that Daisy's bag was chock full of bread, and if that was so, she wanted some.

"Have you heard?" A voice sang out beside her, and she jumped. It was Joo Won, Jooe for short, and she shook her head in response to Jooe's question.

"There's a newbie in town!" Jooe said. "I hope she's friendly, 'cause the teacher told me that I am to be her guide!"

"On babysitting duty? Good luck." Daisy giggled throughout a mouthful of bread.

Guide duty, Ahin knew, was a boring job. It involved showing the new student around the school for a day, including picking her up and dropping her off at the respective classes.

"I would rather stay with you guys and unpack at the dorm, but unfortunately I've got this job." Jooe said. "Take care of my bags for me please!"

"Oh, all right." Daisy said. "Enjoy!"

"Yay, I will." Jooe smiled. Even if the world exploded, she would still wear that smile. That girl was the human form of the word 'optimistic'.

"Hmm." I turned to Daisy once she left. "I wonder who the newbie is. I don't want her to be stuck up, or quiet, or self loving, just like the other girls in our class."

"I certainly hope not." Daisy said with a smirk. "I hate people who think themselves as long lost princesses or something."

"Our class monitor is certainly one." Ahin smiled. Their class monitor, Kang Seulgi, certainly seemed stuck up and remote, to the utter annoyance of the three best friends. Seulgi was a member of the school dance group, Red Velvet, and it seemed like their goody two-shoeing would never stop.

They arrived at the dorm, gossiping, when they saw a person standing there.

A person so beautiful that they couldn't believe their eyes.

A person with angelic eyes, porcelain features and a charismatic aura all around her.
