"Coffee?" Richard Castle, best selling mystery author, asked his girlfriend, Kate Beckett, one of New York's finest homicide detectives.
"Ooh yes please." She said, smiling. She was perched on a chair at his stainless steel kitchen island, flipping through the paper that had just been delivered. "Oh look Castle, we made the front page!" Kate exclaimed. "Listen to this, 'NYPD homicide detective Kate Beckett and partner, Richard Castle, New York Times best selling mystery novelist crack the Johnston case wide open. Another killer is behind bars thanks to this unstoppable pair.'"
"I always knew we were a great team." He said with a grin, setting her coffee mug down with a soft klunk in front of her. He softly placed his hand over hers, smiling as their eyes met. He leaned in for a kiss, but the moment was ruined as Kate's cell phone chimed.
"Beckett." She answered the phone with her usual greeting. "Uh huh."She said, scribbling down something on the back of a nearby envelope. "Alright. Be right there." She hung up and started towards the bedroom. "Hurry up Castle. Murder in five." She called.
