You'll believe God is a woman"That was Ariana Grande coming at you with God is a woman. She is sitting at the top of the charts right now after dropping Sweetner, her new album so go ahead and check that out." I leaned my head against the window sighing.
I was on my way to a radio interview with Ebro at the moment so I'm pretty happy about that, his energy is very infectious and I love that about him.
As a matter of fact, he might be on with someone else right now so I turned the radio to his station.
"What's up New York, if you're just now tuning in then you are in luck. We have one of the most accomplished hip hop artists of this year with us...Y/n Y/L/n."
"Damn, of this year?" I heard who I'm assuming is Y/n laughing.
"Yeah man, I mean last year you were great but like this year you kinda just blew up. With your album Two face just recently dropping earlier this week, everything just seems to be falling into place for you right now."
"It really has though and honestly I'm thankful." I nodded hearing that.
"That's good to hear, now I understand you're from the bay right."
"Yeah, born and raised in Oakland California."
"Right, so who so far from Oakland and the Bay Area in general has been like someone you constantly find yourself working with for collaborations?"
"To be completely honest with you, I think Kehlani and I have worked on more than a few songs together but only like two or three have been released so far. Then I got Marc, G, and P-LO who are probably like the most talented guys I know and they really don't get enough credit for the music they make."
I nodded cause to be completely honest he was right.
"You couldn't have said that any better honestly. I think you guys are really putting the Bay Area on the map along with greats like 40 and Too $hort and all the Bay Area rappers that was really doing their thing to kinda show that really great rappers can come from Northern California."
"Yeah, and honestly I grew up listening to a lot of Bay Area artists but my dad is actually from Long Beach so he put me onto the likes of Snoop, Tupac, Dre, Nate dogg R.I.P by the way, but yeah I was influenced by many rappers in the west coast with the exception of Biggie smalls cause honestly he was unmatchable with his rhymes."
"If that ain't the truth then I don't know what is." Ebro and Y/n laugh at that. "Well your father sounds like a smart man if he put you onto those rap legends."
"Yeah he had his moments, but it's funny cause the only time I'd see him at home was when he'd have a new song to listen to. My dad's a professional football player, well he was. He retired a few years back."
