Ch.1 Why Him?

(Y/N) POV

I was sitting in the ORC with the devils Rias, Akeno, Koneko and Kiba. There my best friends, oh...if your wondering, I'm not a devil, I'm a human. I found out about the supernatural when I was very young, my parents introduced me to the Gremory family years ago, Zeoticus even offered Rias's hand in marriage a couple of years ago, but I turned it down saying she deserves better, even though I had feelings for Rias I couldn't let her settle for a normal human like me. It wasn't until later that I regretted my choice, because now she's engaged to that asshole Riser Phenex. I was brought out of my thoughts when Rias started to snap her fingers in front of my face.

Rias : (Y/N) yoohoo, are you there?" she asked snapping her fingers as I look at her

(Y/N) : Sorry kinda got lost in thought there" I said scratching the back of my head

Akeno : Oh~, are they dirty thoughts about me?" she asked making me blush

(Y/N) : You always find a way to make anything I say dirty" I responded as she giggled

(Y/N) : Oh, by the way, how do you like my homemade chocolate Koneko?" I asked as the little Neko blushed and gave me a thumbs up

(Y/N) : Also, Kiba if your not too busy later on, can you help me with my swordsmanship?" I asked as Kiba nodded

Rias : Well (Y/N) there is something I want you to do, there is this boy named Issei Hyoudou" she said as I groaned at the name

(Y/N) : You mean one of the biggest perverts of the school?" I asked making everyone giggle

Rias : Yes, it seems he possesses a hidden power and I want to recruit him into my peerage, he has a date on Saturday and I'd like it if you followed him and contact me when something happens" she said handing me an emergency summon circle

(Y/N) : Alright, I'll follow him and see what I can find" I said leaving the room and preparing for tomorrow

~Time Skip~

Yuuma : Will you die for me?" she asked as my eyes widened at her sudden personality change

I saw Issei's girlfriend sprout her fallen angel wings and pierce him through the chest making the pervert fall to the ground. I pulled out the magic circle Rias gave me and was about to summon her, but just as I pulled it out, I felt something pierce through my stomach. I look down to see it was the fallen angel's light spear. I fell to the ground and started to create a puddle with my blood.

Yuuma : My how unfortunate, if you hadn't been following us, you might've been able to live longer, oh well, see you later" she waved goodbye as me and Isse remained on the ground

I saw the paper Rias gave me and dropped some of my blood on it calling her, in about a second Rias came out and gasped at the sight of me bleeding.

Rias : (Y/N)!" she shouted inspecting my wounds, we heard a cough come from Issei and Rias turned to him

Rias pulled out her rook and knight pieces and tried to enter them in my body, but they refused to enter and were pushed back. When she pulled her pawns out however, they were about to enter my body, but Rias snatched them out before they could enter.

Rias : I'm sorry (Y/N), but I need these pieces for Issei, please forgive me" she said embracing me with tears in her eyes as my vision became blurry then to black

~Time Skip~

I slowly began to wake up, my body was sore all over as I tried to move. When I opened my eyes and scanned my surroundings, I saw I was in some sort of bedroom. I was laying down in a soft bed on the right side of the room, a bookshelf across from me and a table with a chemistry set in the back center of the room.

??? : Kuuhh" I heard something say as I look towards the end of the bed to see a furry creature just staring at me

I look at the creature and was about to pet it, but it walked off my bed and landed on its face. It quickly stood up and went over to the door, it jumped on the handle and opened the door. I saw it poked its head out the door and made that odd noise again. The sound of footsteps got my attention when a beautiful silver haired woman walked inside the room.

??? : Why hello there, I'm sure your wondering why your here?" she asked as I just stare at her beautiful face

??? : My, you staring at me like that is making me blush" she said as I shook my head and snapped out of the dazed state

(Y/N) : I'm sorry, your just so beautiful" I said as she smiled at me and sat down on the edge of the bed

??? : Why thank you, your quite handsome as well" she replied as I blushed bright red and she giggled

??? : Well enough flirting, I'm going to answer the first question filling your mind right now, your in my home hidden deep inside a magical forest where nobody can find us" she said 

??? : I brought you here after you were on the brink of death after that fallen angel pierced your stomach" she said as I lift up my shirt to see no scar from the light spear

??? : I saw your devil friend about to resurrect you, but she chose to revive the other boy instead, I'm sorry" she apologized as I lied back down and looked at the ceiling sadly 

(Y/N) : I guess I wasn't good enough for her" I said as the woman shook her head

??? : That is not your fault, she tried to revive you with the other pieces, but your body refused to take them, if she had put in her pawns, you would've taken them all and possibly turned them into mutated pawn pieces" she said making my eyes widen as I sat up

(Y/N) : ME, A MUTATED PAWN?!" I shouted in surprise

??? : Yes, you possess a very powerful sacred gear" she said confusing me

(Y/N) : Are you sure, because Sirzechs said I had no magical abilities what so ever" I said as the woman sighed

??? : Of course, that's because your sacred gear doesn't want to be found, if he did then you would've been turned into a devil long ago and from what I can assume, it doesn't want to" she said as I took in all the information

??? : Now, I didn't save your life for free, I expect something in return" she said standing up and looking at me with a smile

(Y/N) : Is there something you have in mind?" I asked

??? : Yes, I want you to be my apprentice" she answered as I just stare at her for a couple of seconds before tilting my head in confusion

(Y/N) : What?" I asked
