CLARISSA STARK is the daughter of a shield agent and one of the world's most famous superheroes to date. her mother is aubrey jenkins, a woman who was believed to be dead until it was discovered that she had been working as the midtown high school librarian. her father is tony stark, otherwise known as the merchant of death, iron-man.
being the child of iron-man doesn't necessarily come easy - and clary learns that when she is kidnapped at a mere thirteen years old by people who wanted her father dead. in an attempt to rescue his daughter, tony tries to set off an explosion, but he is unaware of the fact that she is surrounded by liquid nitrogen tanks. as a result of this miscalculation, clary is not killed, rather her dna morphed so that she has cryogenic powers and an lower-than-average temperature - basically, without being aware, tony stark turned his daughter into a mutant.
in an effort to protect clary from the truth, tony does not tell her that he is essentially the cause of why she received her powers, and clary does not learn of the truth until the arrival of ultron, when vision is the one to break the unfortunate news. the revelation of the truth drives a rift between the girl and the father that she once worshipped.
clary is now an honor's student, never seen without her face in a textbook, because even though the connection between her and her father was severed, she will always have that thirst to prove herself.
